Hi, my name is Barb and I like to sew. No, I LOVE to sew. I love fabric and I am very addicted. There, I’ve said it. Almost every day you can find me in my sewing room working on my latest project. And if I’m not sewing, I’m probably shopping for fabric or looking at sewing websites.
I have been sewing since I was about 12 years old. I got the sewing bug when I was about 12 years old. I took my first home-ec class in seventh grade in junior high school. I found I was pretty good at it and I loved it making things! I remember my mom taking me to Sears to get all the supplies and fabric I needed for class. I still have the six-inch measure that mom scratched my name on. Mom also bought me my first sewing pattern, a skirt pattern, and showed me how to read the pattern and instructions, cut it out, and sew it . My addiction was born! Many a day I would run to Sears or So Fro Fabrics after school to buy fabric, rush home, make it and wear it the next day to school.
For 30+ years, along with other sewing, I made almost everything I wore. It is a wonderful feeling to walk into a fabric store and know that any fabric can be made into anything, and it will fit! Then grandchildren came along and what fun to sew for them! Now I have drifted from sewing clothing to “fun things”. My current passions are making handbags, wallets and baby things.
I’ve pretty much saturated family members with all things sewn, so I decided to branch out and start a little business, so here I am. It’s a little scary, but I am so excited. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy my site! Please check back often, as I will be adding new things regularly.
Sincerely,
Barb
